A couple of years ago I was fortunate enough to be become a Spectrum Inspired photographer. You definitely need to check out this organization and the amazing work they are doing for families on the spectrum. As photographers and storytellers, the opportunity to share the stories of families living on the autism spectrum is truly their passion and one that is near and dear to my heart, so it was a no-brainer deciding to apply as a photographer. I was so happy when I was accepted as a Las Vegas Spectrum Inspired Photographer into their program serving in my area.
If you are a photographer and would like more information on becoming a Spectrum Inspired photographer, please don’t hesitate to apply, there is a huge need and I promise you that you will be changed for the better!

In my previous post I talked about the amazing people that have been placed in my life, and the impact that they have had on me and my outlook on so much of life. This is another one of those beautiful stories, and yep you are right, it seems to happen to me a lot!
If you have had the pleasure of knowing this family, you know that are definitely like no other. They have so many layers, so much personality, so much passion, and so much love. They truly live their life completely transparent and so boldly, and I am so envious of that in them. They truly have been through life’s toughest pains and hurts, and yet they get back up, they brush themselves off, they pull in tighter and stronger and they continue to march forward. They aren’t afraid to share the messier and uglier sides of their journey either, the side that often gets fluffed for fear of appearing weak. I have no doubt that they have touched so many lives as deeply as they have mine.
I feel like they need their own reality show! Oh hey, maybe next year I could talk them into a Day In The Life film and it could be like a reality show….

I just adore this family!
There are people that come into your life that you feel like were placed there for a reason. I have so many friends that I love that I feel this way about. You know them, the type that make you a better person, that inspire you, and change your life for the better. So many of the friends I have made over the years I have met under the saddest of circumstances, but have developed dear friendships from. This family is one of those stories.

Each year I select a favorite from each session that I have documented throughout the year. Here is this year’s client favorites together in a collection. What many of you will notice is that my favorites are not always yours! Mine actually tend to change over time, but what I am consistently drawn to is connection, joy, and light. These three things get me every single time.

I seriously love every session I do with them even more than the last. I mean enough that I am a crying and a mess editing their films. I think the more they have trusted me with their lives, the more I have been blessed in seeing them love and grow together as a family, the more and more invested I have become in them and their story. I feel like I see them just as they are. They are beautiful all on their own, but as a family… just even more so.
They completely put their trust in me during their sessions and give me full rein in directing them. It is so refreshing!

I met this adorable family two years ago when they were pretty new to Vegas and looking for a family photographer. Ashley had warned me ahead of time that her husband does not like family picture day, and that it wasn’t his favorite thing AT ALL. I actually totally get it! I get that the idea of getting dressed up and standing in front of a camera feeling all awkward does not sound appealing. There is the build up of the days leading up to your session where mom is anxious, outfit choices are super tough, and inevitably someone gets sick or injured.

If you have been following me very long at all, you have certainly seen this family in my blog posts, videos, and images. They have been so loyal and such wonderful clients over the years and it all began with an answer to a model call!
I love so much about them, but most of all how much they love each other! It truly is so apparent in how they interact with each other and the joy that just surrounds them when they are together.
I love that they value me and my business so much so that even with price increases they have remained loyal and for this past session budgeted it out over a big chunk of the year to make it work, that truly means so much to me! I know that investing in my services is a big one, and I don’t take that lightly at all.

I met this beautiful family when they transferred to Las Vegas last year and were looking for a newborn photographer. Mom is a OB/Gyn here at Nellis Air Force base and moved here right before her due date. I was just so happy that they found me, I loved them from the start!
I was so excited when they signed up for my fall family sessions early to get their spot. Jean really wanted to document Anna’s one year milestone along with her family all together. She had seen this location in a few of my images and was just so drawn to a particular tree there. I totally feel the same way about the same tree for the same reasons. It just symbolizes family, growth, and beauty.
I just love the way their session turned out. Here are some of my favorites!
