Las Vegas Newborn Photographer

Where do I even start with this beautiful Las Vegas in-home newborn session? This family will always hold a special place in my heart, and having the opportunity to document their second newborn has been such a blessing!

I first met this family in my career as a labor and delivery nurse. Their older daughter’s birth was the very last delivery in my 19 years in this field. It was a very emotional birth. Their older daughter was born at 28 weeks gestation (I will tell her story in a little more detail in another post) and spent four months in the NICU. I kept my two careers very separate, and In her quest to find a photographer for her daughter, when she finally came home from the NICU, she saw my images hanging on the hospital’s walls and contacted me. She had no idea I was the nurse who cared for her until I could connect the dots and tell her who I was! She was the first patient in my 19 years to hire me after I cared for them as their labor nurse (I kept them that separate!), and I am proud of that! What a blessing, and a beautiful way to end my career in nursing.

I was so excited when mom reached out to me to schedule another beautiful in-home newborn session with their newest arrival; talk about coming full circle!

Another interesting tidbit of information about me; I used to be a posed studio newborn photographer before rebranding to birth. I moved away from posed work and into lifestyle in-home newborns because of my desire to capture the story. The emotions and period surrounding birth drew me to more of a documentary approach that is more cohesive with my birth work. This is where my heart is. This mama of course, saw all my posed work hanging on the hospital walls and wanted a mix of both, and so obliged.
